03-29-2008: Niagara Falls From Above

Satellite imaging at its best. The image shows the Niagara River that connects Lake Erie to Lake Ontario, snaking around Goat Island, in the lower left of the full image. Most of the river's water plummets over the Canadian/Horseshoe Falls, but some diverted water spills over American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls downstream. Every second, more than two million liters of water plunges over the Horsehoe Falls segment of Niagara Falls creating one of the world's largest waterfalls as well as eating away as much as two meters of rock per year. The image was acquired August 2, 2004.

There is no wound in this world that time doesn't heal. Yann Arthus Bertrand follows up on a wound of love from Mother Earth and tells us that all is well and healing.

Yann Arthus Bertrand's signature photo that has captivated all of us. Another brilliant metaphor of the wounds imparted on to the loving Mother Earth by mankind or nature. Sometimes, the earth shows her heart sending signals that she can take all the hardships and pain. All for love.

03-19-2007: Geo-Position

Geography used to be my favorite subject. Had I been more informed and less naive back when I was getting out of high school, I would have gladly chosen to pursue an undergraduate degree in applied geography or even architecture. But alas, that's a story that didn't unfold in hindsight.

We live in the age of geo-tagging. My love for maps and all things geographic continues and the picture above is a graphical representation of my current whereabouts pertaining to my residence in Singapore.
